Various regions across Saudi Arabia are witnessing national, sporting, and entertainment events as part of Saudi National Day celebrations, held this year under the slogan “Our Pride Lies in Our Nature,” expressing national pride and belonging and drawing on values associated with Saudi identity, including authenticity, courage, generosity, and ambition.
National Day celebrations continue today across the Kingdom with a series of air, sea, and land shows, alongside cultural and entertainment programs, creating a festive atmosphere that reflects broad community participation in this national occasion.
Sporting activities are also contributing to this year’s National Day celebrations through various competitions and events, including Gulf Cup 27 (Khaleeji 27), which the Kingdom is hosting from September 23 to October 6 under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Jeddah is also hosting the 2026 Arab Sailing Championship (Optimist Class) at the Jeddah Sailing Center on the Red Sea coast, with approximately 90 young sailors from 13 Arab countries taking part.
These sporting events reflect the growing role of the Kingdom’s sports sector in staging regional and international competitions, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which has positioned sports as a key pillar of development, expanded participation, supported the development of facilities and infrastructure, and encouraged the hosting of major championships and events.
