NAIROBI — President of Senegal Bassirou Diomaye Faye has awarded Saudi Ambassador to Kenya Saad Al-Nofaia the rank of Commander of the National Order of the Lion, one of Senegal’s highest national honors. This is in recognition of his efforts and contributions to strengthening bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Senegal during his tenure as the Kingdom’s ambassador to Senegal.

On behalf of the Senegalese president, Senegalese Ambassador to Kenya Ndongo Dieng presented the medal to Ambassador Al-Nofaia during a ceremony held at the Senegalese embassy in Nairobi on Friday.

The Senegalese ambassador praised Al-Nofaia’s efforts during his tenure in Dakar and his contributions to strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries and advancing their bilateral partnership in political, economic, developmental, and cultural fields. He also emphasized the deep historical ties between Saudi Arabia and Senegal.

Ambassador Al-Nofaia expressed his pride in receiving the honor and extended his thanks and appreciation to the Senegalese president, leadership, and people. He affirmed that the honor reflects the deep fraternal relations and longstanding historical ties between the two countries, which continue to develop across various fields.
