Pepper cultivation has emerged as a cornerstone of agricultural diversification in Al-Jouf Region, strengthening local vegetable supplies and supporting national food security objectives under Saudi Vision 2030.

The region produces an array of pepper varieties, ranging from colorful sweet bell peppers to chili cultivars used in fresh culinary preparations, pickling, and spice production. This agricultural output enables local farmers and families working int the cottage industry to tap into expanding commercial opportunities across regional food supply chains.

Local farmer Fahd Al-Khaldi stated that cultivating peppers requires meticulous care from seedling selection through harvest, adding that the wide variety of cultivars allows growers to meet diverse commercial and consumer preferences.

Farmer Ahmed Al-Salman highlighted that consistent demand from restaurants and households drives production, noting that the crop offers high economic viability due to its low water consumption and natural resistance to common agricultural pests.

Supported by ongoing initiatives from relevant authorities to modernize local farming practices and optimize yields, Al-Jouf continues to expand its agricultural footprint, reinforcing self-sufficiency and sustainable resource management across the Kingdom.
