The Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) commended Saudi Arabia’s efforts in supporting Arab and Islamic causes, foremost among them the Palestinian cause. It also praised the Kingdom’s role in promoting regional stability, sponsoring dialogue and peace initiatives, and advancing reform and development at the national and Arab levels in line with a forward-looking vision based on stability and sustainability.

In the final statement of its 39th conference, the union congratulated Saudi Arabia on assuming the presidency of the current session, represented by Speaker of the Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh. It expressed full confidence in the Kingdom’s leadership and its ability to steer the union’s work during this critical period in the region’s history.

The speakers and representatives of Arab parliaments and legislative councils participated in the 39th conference, which was held virtually in Saudi Arabia under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Participants emphasized the importance of Arab solidarity and unity as fundamental pillars for safeguarding Arab national security and addressing the economic, security, and political challenges facing the region. They also reaffirmed their belief in the role of joint Arab parliamentary action in promoting civil peace, strengthening the rule of law and institutions, and achieving sustainable development for Arab peoples.

The union affirmed its readiness to work closely with the new Saudi presidency and the union’s General Secretariat to implement the recommendations and programs adopted during the session. It also stressed the importance of following up on the implementation of previous resolutions for the benefit of Arab peoples.

The statement praised the success of the 1447 AH Hajj season. It commended the comprehensive services, meticulous organization, and professional crowd management provided by Saudi Arabia. These efforts enabled pilgrims to perform their rituals with ease, safety, and peace of mind in a spiritual atmosphere.

The participating speakers and heads of Arab parliaments and councils expressed appreciation to the Saudi leadership for its patronage and support of the conference. They also commended the facilities and resources provided by the Kingdom, which contributed to the success of the event and the achievement of its objectives.
