    Dr. Alfaqeer assumes office as SABIC CEO

    Dr. Faisal Mohammed Alfaqeer today took office as the Chief Executive Office of the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) at the company’s Headquarters in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

    Dr. Alfaqeer was appointed by SABIC’s Board of Directors in March of this year to succeed Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Fageeh.

    On this occasion, Dr. Alfaqeer stated: “It is with a great pride that I take the helm at SABIC, a global industry leader and national champion with long-standing legacy,” adding, “I am privileged to be chosen by SABIC’s esteemed Board of Directors to lead the company into its next chapter, building on its rich and long history as the company is set to mark its 50th Anniversary.”

    Dr. Alfaqeer – a respected leader and figure in our industry – brings a great wealth of experience and knowledge after serving the industry for more than three decades.

    Previously, Dr. Alfaqeer chaired the Board of ARLANXEO and Saudi Aramco Mobil Refinery Company. He was also appointed as the CEO of Sadara Chemical Company from October 2017 to November 2022. He also served as Senior Vice President of the In-Kingdom Liquids-to-Chemicals Development at Saudi Aramco.

    Dr. Alfaqeer holds a Master of Science degree and PhD degree in Materials Science & Engineering, both obtained from Pennsylvania State University and a bachelor’s degree from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
