The Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) called on the public to ensure the reliability of websites and electronic platforms before sharing personal data, documents, and biometric identifiers when obtaining services provided by such platforms, and to be cautious about sharing this information with unofficial websites or platforms.
The authority stressed the importance of this when sharing any personal data, documents, or biometric identifiers with any electronic platforms or websites to ensure that such information is not used unlawfully, which could expose individuals to fraud, identity theft, and other risks resulting from dealing with platforms or websites without verifying their reliability.
This step comes as part of SDAIA’s efforts to enhance public awareness of personal data protection and to reduce improper practices when sharing personal data, documents, or biometric identifiers, in conjunction with the Year of Artificial Intelligence 2026, reflecting the Kingdom’s direction toward promoting the responsible use of advanced technologies and maximizing their impact across various aspects of life.
