RIYADH — Pakistani military units, including fighter jets and support aircraft, have arrived in Saudi Arabia as part of a strategic defense pact between the two countries, the Saudi Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday.

“The Ministry of Defense announces the arrival of a military force from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan at King Abdulaziz Air Base in the Eastern Sector, acting in accordance with the Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement signed between the two countries,” the ministry said in a statement, carried by the Saudi Press Agency.

The force, which includes fighter and support aircraft from the Pakistan Air Force, aims to strengthen joint military coordination and elevate operational readiness between the Saudi and Pakistani armed forces to further support regional and international security and stability, the ministry added in the statement.

This military cooperation comes within the framework of both countries’ efforts to enhance operational readiness and develop joint defense capabilities through the exchange of expertise and the implementation of joint programs and exercises. The Ministry of Defense affirmed that this step contributes to supporting security and stability at both the regional and international levels, and reflects the depth of the strategic relations between the Kingdom and Pakistan, as well as their ongoing cooperation in defense and military fields.

It is noteworthy that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan signed in September 2025 the Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement. It was emphasized in the agreement that “any aggression against either country shall be considered an aggression against both.”
