Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al-Yamahi is leading international efforts at the parliamentary, human rights, and global levels to confront what is described as the “law on the execution of Palestinian prisoners,” approved by the Israeli Knesset.

Al-Yamahi addressed official letters to several international officials, including the United Nations Secretary-General, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, and the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, as well as heads of regional and international parliaments, calling for urgent action to halt the implementation of the law and hold those responsible accountable.

He stated that the adoption of the law represents a dangerous escalation and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions, warning of the consequences of international silence on the matter.

He also called on the international community to take immediate measures, including activating international accountability mechanisms and ensuring protection for Palestinian prisoners, affirming that the Arab Parliament will continue its efforts to stop the law.
