KUWAIT CITY — Hayat Al-Fahad, one of the most celebrated figures in Gulf drama and Arab television, died on Tuesday after a distinguished artistic career spanning more than six decades.

Widely known as the “Lady of the Gulf Screen,” Al-Fahad was regarded as a pioneer of regional entertainment, leaving behind a legacy that helped shape the identity of Gulf television drama through generations.

She began her career in the 1960s and went on to star in dozens of television series and theatrical productions that earned widespread popularity across the Gulf and the wider Arab world.

Al-Fahad became known for portraying layered and emotionally powerful characters, often addressing social and humanitarian issues in realistic and influential ways.

Her death was announced through her official social media accounts, prompting an outpouring of grief across artistic and cultural circles.

Artists, media figures and fans paid tribute to her legacy, describing her as one of the defining faces of Gulf entertainment.

Reports said her health had deteriorated in recent days and that she had been moved to intensive care before passing away.

Beyond acting, Al-Fahad was also active in writing and production, contributing to dramatic works that tackled major social themes while supporting young talent and helping develop the Gulf drama industry.

Ministry of Information of Kuwait mourned her passing, praising her exceptional performances and lasting impact on the artistic scene in Kuwait and the Gulf.

The ministry said Al-Fahad’s work touched society’s concerns with sincerity and depth, leaving a timeless legacy in Gulf drama.

In an emotional tribute, Souad Abdullah expressed deep sorrow over the loss of her longtime colleague and friend, recalling their final moments together in hospital.

With Al-Fahad’s passing, the Gulf cultural scene loses one of its most influential icons, while her artistic legacy is expected to endure for generations.
