BEIRUT — Four people were killed in Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon on Saturday, Lebanese state media reported, in the latest reported violations of the ongoing ceasefire.

According to National News Agency, Israeli forces shelled the areas of Qantara, Qusayr, Wadi Hassan, Yohmor al-Shaqif, and Houla.

An Israeli drone also struck a motorcycle and a truck in the town of Yohmor al-Shaqif.

Lebanon’s Health Ministry said four people were killed in attacks on the town.

The report added that Israeli forces continued demolishing homes with explosives in the occupied town of Khiam.

In the Lebanese capital Beirut, an Israeli drone was reported flying at low altitude since the morning hours.

Fighting escalated after cross-border attacks involving Hezbollah on March 2, followed by intensified Israeli airstrikes and ground operations in southern Lebanon.

Lebanese authorities say nearly 2,500 people have been killed and more than one million displaced since expanded hostilities began.

On Thursday, U.S. President Donald Trump said Israel and Lebanon agreed to extend the ceasefire by three weeks following high-level talks at the White House.

A 10-day truce had first been announced on April 16, but both sides have since accused each other of violations.
