KYIV — Russian drone strikes killed at least two people and injured 13 others across southern and northeastern Ukraine on Saturday, Ukrainian officials said.

Kherson Governor Oleksandr Prokudin said a drone strike hit a minibus in the Dniprovskyi district, killing two people — a municipal worker and a woman — and injuring seven others, including utility workers.

All of the injured were taken to hospital for treatment, he added.

Prokudin later said a second strike targeted another minibus in Kherson’s Tsentralnyi district, injuring one person.

The Kherson Regional Military Administration said the number of injured in the initial attack rose to eight.

Ukraine’s Air Force said air defenses shot down 143 of 162 drones launched by Russia overnight.

In the southwestern Odesa region, Governor Oleh Kiper said port infrastructure was targeted, damaging warehouses and outbuildings, though no casualties were reported.

In Kharkiv, Governor Oleh Synyehubov said one person was injured when a drone struck a high-rise building, with three more injured in separate attacks.

Meanwhile, Mykolaiv Governor Vitaliy Kim reported power outages following strikes on energy infrastructure.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia was attempting to overwhelm air defenses with large-scale attacks and called for sustained international pressure.

Russian authorities did not immediately comment on the claims, although the Defense Ministry said its air defenses intercepted 215 Ukrainian drones across multiple regions, as well as over the Black Sea, the Sea of Azov, and Crimea.
