RIYADH — The General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) seized 1,401,925 amphetamine pills concealed inside a machine used for crushing rocks in the Northern Borders Region.

The security authorities arrested the transporter and the intended recipients of the shipment in the Northern Borders Region. Those arrested included three Saudi citizens and a Jordanian resident.

The seizure was part of the Ministry of Interior’s efforts to combat narcotics and monitor smuggling and trafficking activities targeting the Kingdom’s security and youth.

Security authorities urged the public to report any activities related to drug smuggling or trafficking by calling the phone number 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 in other regions, or via the GDNC hotline at 995 or email [email protected]. They emphasized that all reports will be treated with strict confidentiality and that the whistleblower will not be held accountable.

The Ministry of Interior stressed that all of its security sectors, in coordination with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, will continue confronting anyone attempting to target the Kingdom and its youth with narcotic substances.
