Mayor of Al-Baha Region Dr. Ali Al-Sawat, in the presence of Director General of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture regional branch Eng. Fahad Al-Zahrani, launched an initiative today with the participation of several government agencies, non-profit organizations, scouts, and more than 700 volunteers.

The initiative aims to plant over 20,000 native seedlings across Al-Baha city and its surrounding governorates, including walkways, parks, public squares, and medians, contributing to environmental sustainability and enhancing the quality of life.

More than 11 public and private entities are participating in the initiative, with planting to cover all governorates, including public squares and parks.

Al-Baha Municipality continues to implement afforestation initiatives using advanced irrigation methods, aiming to rationalize fresh water consumption, increase the use of treated water for tree irrigation to over 85%, and expand green spaces.
