Aseer Region continues to strengthen its position as one of the Kingdom’s leading tourist destinations. The region is supported by expanding tourism infrastructure, growing investments in the hospitality sector, and a diverse range of events and experiences targeting different visitor segments. These developments reflect the transformation taking place under the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
Statistics released by the Ministry of Tourism show continued growth in the tourism and hospitality sector. The region includes more than 14,000 tourism accommodation units offering diverse lodging experiences through international and local operators. Hospitality facilities also include licensed rural tourism units that provide unique experiences amid the region’s clouds and mist, reflecting the variety of options available to visitors.
Investment has played a key role in expanding accommodation capacity through a range of tourism projects featuring high-quality lodging facilities. The region is also working to add more than 5,000 additional accommodation units in the coming years through major projects currently under development, in line with the objectives of Aseer’s development strategy.
The Aseer Region Development Authority is seeking to further increase accommodation capacity in response to growing visitor numbers. It is working with the private sector and companies affiliated with the Public Investment Fund to support this expansion in line with Saudi Vision 2030 goals.
As part of preparations for the 2026 tourism season, Aseer aims to attract more than three million visitors and offer over 100 events and experiences. These will showcase prominent natural, heritage, and cultural attractions, including Abu Sarah Palaces, Al-Yanfa Village, and the Sawt Abha Festival. The Tuesday Market will also reopen following its redevelopment, while Talal Maddah Theater will resume its role as a cultural and artistic venue hosting a variety of events that enrich the region’s tourism and cultural landscape.
