Data on handicrafts regulation and licensing for 2025 showed notable growth in the Kingdom’s sector, with 9,972 male and female artisans registered in the national register of artisans, in addition to 5,508 licenses issued to handicraft practitioners and 47 licenses granted to product retail outlets.
According to the Ministry of Culture’s 2025 annual report, Aseer recorded a prominent position among the Kingdom’s regions in terms of the number of artisans listed in the register. The region registered 635 male and female artisans, placing it among the most active regions in handicrafts nationwide and benefiting from its rich cultural heritage and the diversity of its traditional products.
This growing presence reflects Aseer’s position as one of the Kingdom’s most important environments for nurturing traditional crafts. It also enhances investment opportunities in the handicrafts sector and supports efforts to preserve national heritage while transforming it into a sustainable economic resource that contributes to income diversification and job creation.
