Fernando Cea, Vice President of Technology for MENA and APAC, Globant. From 3D rendering to open worlds, gaming has always evolved through innovation that reshapes how we play, what we expect, and who gets to participate. Procedural storylines can actively evolve in unexpected ways, and entire worlds can expand dynamically. We’re in the midst of a profound transformation that’s shifting gaming not just for a few players, but for all of us. However, every advancement in gaming has forced…
Al-Marsous Well in the town of Al-Qadimah, Rabigh Governorate, is a historic landmark that served as a vital water source and strategic stop for trade caravans and pilgrims along the Kingdom’s western coast. Across Dubai, running clubs are emerging as some of the most accessible and genuine spaces for connection and a recent almost 2,000-runners-strong sprint at Kite Beach offered a glimpse into why. Dubai’s beaches have seen their fair share of weekend runs, but what unfolded at Kite Beach last Sunday was way beyond just staying “on track” with your fitness regime. At sunrise, close to 2,000 people gathered for the ‘Run As One’ initiative, a community-led solidarity run that turned an ordinary stretch of sand and running track into a snapshot of Dubai’s spirit of togetherness. Flags were tied like capes,…
Lunges, push-ups, split squats, press-ups. April 17 morning was no ordinary moment at Jumeirah Beach hotel as former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand and his wife Kate led a community workout session for more than 100 people. The endeavour was, in essence, the couple’s effort to give back after a “heavy time for many”. By the time the duo took to the stage, along with personal trainers Amandio and Fea, the crowd was already in a frenzy. The ice-breaking happened on stage from time to time as Rio occasionally broke into dance, joked with the audience while Kate motivated them…

You’ve seen it a thousand times on postcards and hotel campaigns, that unmistakable white sail rising from the ocean. But Burj Al Arab has always been more than its silhouette. It is a building that, in the 1990s, catapulted Dubai onto the global luxury map and announced its arrival on the world stage. Over the years, it has become synonymous with the city’s growth story, an early and enduring testament to Dubai’s steadfast ambition. With the announcement of its closure for an 18-month restoration, it feels like a fitting moment to revisit the quirks, engineering gambles and design choices that…
