WASHINGTON — A US special forces soldier involved in the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has been arrested and charged for allegedly betting on that operation before the information was publicly available, netting him $400,000 in profits. The US Department of Justice has charged Gannon Ken Van Dyke after he allegedly made trades on Polymarket, a crypto-powered platform, on the basis of classified information. “That is clear insider trading and is illegal under federal law,” officials said. Van Dyke, an active-duty soldier in the US Army stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, won more than $409,000 (£303,702) as…
Lunges, push-ups, split squats, press-ups. April 17 morning was no ordinary moment at Jumeirah Beach hotel as former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand and his wife Kate led a community workout session for more than 100 people. The endeavour was, in essence, the couple’s effort to give back after a “heavy time for many”. By the time the duo took to the stage, along with personal trainers Amandio and Fea, the crowd was already in a frenzy. The ice-breaking happened on stage from time to time as Rio occasionally broke into dance, joked with the audience while Kate motivated them…

As enterprise AI initiatives evolve, organisations in the GCC are under increasing pressure to move faster, prove value sooner, and make outputs usable inside real operating workflows. Recent research shows that 84% of organisations in the region are already using AI, yet only 11% are achieving measurable business value at scale, highlighting a growing gap between adoption and impact. At the same time, they must navigate tighter data residency rules, shifting policy expectations, and more fragmented deployment environments, while ensuring that the data behind AI is reliable enough to support decisions and action. Qlik® is addressing…

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) extends the free storage period from 7 to 30 days for various goods and transit containers passing through the dry port in Riyadh. This initiative extends SAR’s recent launch of five new logistics routes, which supported the flow of goods and containers through an interconnected network linking the ports of the Eastern Region with those of the Western Region and countries to the north of the Kingdom. In addition, the routes strengthen connectivity through border crossings and regional markets within an integrated transport system that combines modes (rail, land, and sea), accelerating shipping operations…

Born in the UK and raised in New Zealand, Fordham moved to Dubai in 2008 to step outside his “comfort zone and work in a more multicultural and dynamic career space”. A major blind sport in mobile network operations could be solved by using SIM-based, device-side quality of experience (QoE) telemetry, according to independent research by Chetan Sharma Consulting for vendor Simphonic found. Analysing 4,679 real-world device events collected over 30 days, the study found 40.5 per cent of negative subscriber experiences, such as dropped networks, voice call failures, modem restarts, and cell handoff disruptions, are largely invisible to traditional network KPIs, even though they strongly influence churn. Notably, 59.4 per cent of the negative events occurred at subscribers’ primary stationary locations like home and work, where perceptions of mobile operator…
