RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s annual inflation rate or the Consumer Price Index (CPI) recorded an increase of 1.8 percent in May 2026 compared with May 2025, according to the data released on Monday by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT). The GASTAT report showed that the increase is mainly attributed to a 3.7 percent rise in housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuel prices, a 1.5 percent increase in transportation prices, and a 1.7 percent rise in restaurant and accommodation service prices. LONDON — Britain’s Royal Marine Commandos boarded a Russian “shadow fleet” oil tanker in the English Channel in the early hours of Sunday morning.
