JAZAN/ASIR — Border Guard land patrols arrested 13 violators of the Border Security Law and thwarted the smuggling of 280 kg of khat, 37 kg of hashish and 45,000 tablets in three separate operations across Asir and Jazan.
In Asir, Border Guard land patrols in the Al-Raboua Sector arrested four Ethiopian nationals, violators of the Border Security Law, for smuggling 80 kilograms of narcotic khat.
Jazan Border Guard land patrols thwarted the smuggling of 45,000 tablets and 37 kg of hashish.
In Jazan, Border Guard land patrols in the Al-Da’ir Sector arrested nine violators of the Border Security Law, of Yemeni and Ethiopian nationalities, for smuggling 200 kilograms of narcotic khat.
In a separate operation in the Al-Raboua Sector of Asir, Border Guard land patrols thwarted the smuggling of 45,000 tablets subject to medical circulation regulations and 37 kilograms of narcotic hashish.
The initial legal procedures were completed in all three cases, with the suspects and seized items handed over to the competent authority.
Four Ethiopians were arrested in Asir for smuggling 80 kg of khat.
