Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha, accompanied by Governor of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) Eng. Haytham AlOhali and Chairman of the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones (SAFCSP) Faisal Alkhamisi, held a series of meetings with technology industry leaders and investors in the Republic of Korea to discuss opportunities for partnership in artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, digital infrastructure, cloud computing, and software, strengthening cooperation between the two countries in future technologies.

Alswaha began his engagements by participating in an extended dialogue session with the Korea AI·Software Industry Association (KOSA), chaired by Joh. Joon Hee, and attended by representatives of several Korean companies. The discussions focused on opportunities for collaboration in AI, software, cloud computing, digital government services, strengthening collaboration between companies in both countries, and developing digital talent.

The minister also met with the leadership of Samsung Electronics to discuss expanding cooperation in AI, semiconductors, digital infrastructure, and sixth-generation (6G) technologies, as well as localizing advanced technologies and developing national capabilities, reinforcing the Kingdom’s position as a global hub for AI.

Alswaha further met with Chairman and CEO of SK Group Chey Tae-won to discuss expanding cooperation in AI, semiconductors, data centers, and digital infrastructure, as well as exploring opportunities for investment and joint innovation, supporting the growth of the digital economy.

Alswaha concluded his meetings by meeting with a select group of investors and technology leaders in the Republic of Korea to discuss building high-impact partnerships between the technology ecosystems of the two countries, expanding joint investment opportunities, and connecting Saudi companies and talent with Korean expertise and capabilities in AI, software, and advanced technologies.

These meetings build on the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to expand its international partnerships with leading global technology companies, attract high-value technologies and investments, strengthen the innovation ecosystem, and support the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, further strengthening Saudi Arabia’s standing in the digital economy and AI.
