    E-commerce sales in Saudi Arabia surge 11.8% to SR37.6 billion in July

    RIYADH — E-commerce sales in Saudi Arabia via Mada cards surged 11.8 percent, reaching SR37.6 billion during July 2026, compared to SR33.6 billion in June, according to the monthly statistical bulletin issued by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).

    The bulletin showed that e-commerce sales via Mada cards jumped 26 percent year-on-year, reaching SR 37.6 billion in July 2026, compared to SR29.8 billion in June 2025. The report confirmed that e-commerce sales via Mada cards increased by 3.1 percent in the second quarter of 2026 compared to the first quarter of 2026, reaching SR101.4 billion in the second quarter of 2026, compared to SR98.3 billion in the first quarter of 2026.

    The report added that e-commerce sales via Mada cards increased by 32.3 percent in the second quarter of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025, reaching SR101.4 billion, compared to SR76.6 billion in the second quarter of 2025.

    The report indicated that point-of-sale (POS) sales increased by 9.4 percent in July compared to June 2026, reaching SR59.7 billion in July, compared to SR54.6 billion in June.

    Point-of-sale (POS) sales are divided into two categories: mobile phone sales, which reached SR34 billion in July 2026, compared to SR30.8 billion in June 2026; and card sales, which reached SR25.7 billion in July 2026, compared to SR23.8 billion in June 2026.

    The report noted that POS sales increased by 6.8 percent year-on-year, reaching SR59.7 billion in July 2026, compared to SR55.9 billion in July 2025. The bulletin also indicated that POS sales decreased by 4.8 percent in the second quarter of 2026 compared to the first quarter of 2026, reaching SR170.1 billion in the second quarter of 2026, compared to SR178.8 billion in the first quarter of 2026.

    Mobile phone sales reached SR95.9 billion in the second quarter of 2026, compared to SR99.7 billion in the first quarter of 2026. In 2026, sales of cards amounted to SR74.1 billion during the second quarter of 2026, compared to SR79.1 billion during the first quarter of 2026, the report pointed out.
