The Zayla’i Maritime Museum in Farasan stands as a prominent cultural landmark, showcasing the deep-rooted connection between the local community and the Red Sea.

Through a collection developed over two decades, the museum offers a documentary-style experience that blends marine biology with cultural heritage, featuring thousands of artifacts, preserved specimens, and artworks crafted from shells and coral.

Beyond its scientific displays, the museum highlights Farasan’s historical maritime legacy and complements the region’s famous heritage events, such as the annual Hareed Festival. By documenting traditional fishing practices and natural phenomena, the museum reinforces the cultural identity of the islands and serves as a vital educational platform for marine conservation.

As a key destination for environmental and cultural tourism, the museum strengthens the position of the Farasan Islands within the Kingdom’s tourism landscape. It provides a unique space where artistic expression meets scientific documentation, preserving the rich natural and heritage assets of the Red Sea for future generations.
