The Saudi cultural attaché in Dublin hosted the first Saudi medical hackathon in Ireland in support of student innovation in the healthcare sector, under the supervision of the Saudi Embassy in Ireland, as part of a student-led initiative aimed at fostering innovation and collaboration among Saudi scholarship students in the Republic of Ireland.

Held under the title “The Hajj Emergency: Every Second Counts,” the hackathon highlighted the importance of rapid response and the development of innovative solutions to health challenges associated with mass gatherings.

The event featured seven competing teams, along with students from GCC countries, reflecting advanced levels of regional cooperation. It was held as part of the third annual meeting of the Saudi Doctors Society in Ireland, hosted by the Saudi cultural attaché in Dublin under the leadership of the society’s president Dr. Saja Al-Hawal, with the aim of providing a platform to bring together students and professionals in the healthcare sector.

Team MedLink won first place, followed by Team Najda in second place and Team Manhal in third.
