KFSH Achieves Diamond Status in World Stroke Organization Awards

King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSH) has earned Diamond status in the World Stroke Organization Awards after meeting advanced international standards for stroke care. This included providing clot-dissolving treatment within 60 minutes to at least 75% of eligible stroke patients, reflecting the strength of KFSH’s rapid-response system and its role in accelerating treatment and reducing stroke-related complications.

The designation achieved by KFSH’s Neuroscience Center of Excellence is awarded to medical centers that demonstrate high standards in emergency response and quality of care for stroke patients. The assessment is based on independent clinical and operational indicators, including treatment efficiency, the speed of catheter-based procedures, and adherence to safety and care standards in specialized stroke units.

A key factor behind this achievement was KFSH’s launch of the region’s first Mobile Stroke Unit, equipped with a CT scanner and staffed by a specialized neurology team. The unit allows diagnosis and treatment to begin at the patient’s location and continue during transport to the hospital, helping improve early intervention and reduce complications.

This achievement also reflects strong coordination between KFSH’s emergency, neurology, interventional radiology, and stroke care teams, supported by an advanced operating model designed to improve response times, treatment accuracy, and patient outcomes.

King Faisal Specialist Hospital has been ranked first in the Middle East and North Africa and 12th globally among the world’s top 250 Academic Medical Centers for 2026 and recognized as the most valuable healthcare brand in the Kingdom and the Middle East according to Brand Finance 2026. It has also been listed by Newsweek among the World’s Best Hospitals 2026, the World’s Best Smart Hospitals, and the World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2026.
