MAKKAH — Prince Saud bin Mishaal, Deputy Emir of the Makkah Region, chaired a meeting of the Permanent Hajj and Umrah Committee on the directives of Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Adviser to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Emir of the Makkah Region, to review the current Umrah season and preparations for Hajj 1448 AH.
The committee reviewed a report on the progress of the Umrah season, including the number of pilgrims arriving and departing, as well as the services provided by government agencies and procedures at the Kingdom’s entry and exit points.
Members also reviewed the outcomes of a series of workshops held as part of the early planning process for Hajj 1448, involving 60 government and service entities responsible for serving pilgrims.
The workshops produced recommendations aimed at building on achievements from previous seasons, enhancing operational plans, strengthening coordination and integration among participating agencies, clarifying responsibilities and improving overall readiness.
The recommendations also focused on developing proactive mechanisms to address potential challenges and ensure the highest level of preparedness to provide the best possible services to pilgrims.
The committee also discussed a number of issues related to preparations for the upcoming Hajj season and issued the necessary recommendations.
