LONDON — Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, Executive Vice Chairman of Arada, founder and CEO of KBW Ventures, and President of the Saudi Sports for All Federation, outlined his vision for the future of cities, technology and public health during a fireside chat at SXSW London 2026.

Speaking during a session titled “A Future Worth Building,” Prince Khaled discussed how urban development, artificial intelligence and long-term investment are reshaping communities around the world.

He highlighted Arada’s rapid growth since its launch in 2017, noting that the developer now has an existing and planned portfolio of more than 55,000 homes across the UAE, the UK and Australia.

Prince Khaled also discussed Arada’s expansion in Britain, including its acquisition of UK developer Regal and a majority stake in the £2.5 billion Thameside West development in London’s Royal Docks, which is expected to begin construction in 2027.

“London is one of the world’s great cities, with unparalleled long-term demand, world-class infrastructure and a shortage of housing,” Prince Khaled said, adding that Arada plans to deliver 16,000 homes across its wider London pipeline.

On technology and investment, he reflected on more than a decade of KBW Ventures, which has invested in more than 100 companies across sectors including fintech, health technology, energy, transportation and artificial intelligence.

Prince Khaled also highlighted his role as President of the Saudi Sports for All Federation, pointing to the Kingdom’s significant progress in increasing physical activity levels among citizens.

According to figures cited during the discussion, the proportion of Saudis meeting recommended physical activity levels has risen from 13% to nearly 60% over the past seven years, supporting the quality-of-life goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

Ahead of his SXSW appearance, Prince Khaled, accompanied by Arada London CEO Jonathan Seal, held meetings at 10 Downing Street and visited Shoreditch Exchange, the UK’s largest startup and scale-up coworking hub, which is owned and operated by Arada.

SXSW London, held from June 1 to 6, brings together more than 1,000 companies, over 450 startups and delegates from more than 50 countries to discuss innovation, technology, business and the future of cities.
