DOHA — Qatar Civil Aviation Authority said Monday it will allow the gradual resumption of foreign airlines’ operations through Hamad International Airport following a comprehensive safety assessment.

The authority said it issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) announcing the move after coordination with relevant national entities to ensure operational readiness and operational efficiency.

“All flights and related operations will be carried out in accordance with the highest internationally recognized safety and security standards,” the authority said.

It added that all necessary measures and precautions have been implemented to protect passengers and aviation personnel.

The announcement came as a two-week ceasefire between Iran and the United States continued to hold, pausing attacks that have killed more than 3,300 people since Feb. 28.

Washington and Tehran held rare direct talks in Islamabad on April 11, but the discussions ended without an agreement. Mediators are seeking to organize another round of negotiations in the Pakistani capital.
