RIYADH — More than 63,000 Saudi families moved into their first homes during the first half of 2026 as part of ongoing efforts to expand homeownership and provide suitable housing, the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing announced.
The ministry said 63,076 Saudi families moved into their first homes during the first six months of the year, including 12,004 families in June, as it continued expanding access to a range of housing and financing solutions.
It added that 48,631 Saudi families benefited from housing support services during the first half of the year, including 10,160 families who received support in June.
The ministry said the total number of subsidized housing contracts signed since the launch of the Sakani program in 2017 had reached 1,046,890 by the end of June.
The program offers a range of integrated housing solutions, including ready-built housing units, off-plan housing units, self-construction, and residential land, allowing beneficiaries to choose the option best suited to their needs and financial capabilities.
The ministry said the milestone reflects Sakani’s continued role in expanding homeownership opportunities and facilitating Saudi families’ journey toward owning a home.
It added that housing projects implemented in partnership with real estate developers are helping increase housing supply and create integrated communities equipped with facilities, services, and open spaces, enhancing quality of life and providing vibrant, sustainable residential environments.
The ministry also noted that the Kingdom’s homeownership rate among Saudi families reached 66.24 percent by the end of 2025, marking continued progress toward the Housing Program’s Vision 2030 target of 70 percent.
