JEDDAH — Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a phone call with newly appointed UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham, during which the two leaders discussed bilateral cooperation, regional developments, and maritime security.

During the call, the Crown Prince congratulated Burnham on assuming office, wished him success in carrying out his duties, and expressed hope for continued prosperity and progress for the United Kingdom.

He also praised the distinguished relations between the two friendly countries.

In addition, the British Prime Minister thanked the Crown Prince for his warm sentiments and reaffirmed the UK’s condemnation of the Houthi militia’s attacks and threats to freedom of navigation in the Red Sea, stressing his country’s support for the security and sovereignty of Saudi Arabia.

The two leaders also reviewed areas of existing cooperation between the two countries, discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral ties, and exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
