The Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) has concluded technical support for the Makkah Route Initiative for the 1447 AH Hajj season through an integrated digital system that contributed to streamlining pilgrims’ travel procedures and enhancing the efficiency of operational processes.

Implemented by the Ministry of Interior for the eighth year in 10 countries through 17 international departure points, the initiative is carried out in cooperation with several government entities as part of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to provide pilgrims with a smoother and higher-quality digital Hajj experience.

SDAIA’s use of data and AI technologies reflected the high level of technical integration among participating government entities. The efforts helped accelerate procedures, ensure business continuity, and enhance the readiness of the digital infrastructure serving pilgrims from departure in their home countries until arrival in the Kingdom.

SDAIA’s team of engineers and technicians also contributed to facilitating pilgrims’ travel procedures from departure through arrival at the Kingdom’s airports and safe return home by utilizing the latest data and AI technologies.

The integrated system enabled the completion of travel procedures for pilgrims in only 40 seconds.

These efforts reflect SDAIA’s ongoing role in supporting the Kingdom’s digital Hajj ecosystem and achieving the objectives of the Pilgrim Experience Program under Saudi Vision 2030 by harnessing advanced technologies to serve humanity and enhance the quality of services provided to pilgrims.
