The concepts of human-centered services and integrated care are reflected in the holy sites through the drinking water system development project. The project has introduced a tangible improvement to the pilgrim experience.
The project provides more than 2,400 modern water points distributed along pedestrian walkways according to an innovative engineering design. The system ensures the continuous availability of chilled and purified drinking water for pilgrims.
The project is implemented by Kidana Development Company, the executive arm of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites. It has transformed traditional water distribution points into integrated hydration stations.
This was achieved through the application of the highest standards of quality and health safety. It also includes a strategic distribution plan designed to support smooth pedestrian movement and reduce crowding in densely populated areas.
The impact of the system extends beyond water provision. It also plays a key role in reducing heat stress and improving movement between the holy sites. These efforts contribute to a safer, more comfortable, and more tranquil environment for pilgrims.
The project reflects Kidana’s commitment to strengthening the sustainability of service infrastructure and enhancing operational efficiency through advanced technological solutions. The solutions ensure uninterrupted water flow and maintain high water quality.
These efforts contribute to enriching the pilgrim experience and embody the advanced level of care provided to pilgrims.
