    Thunderstorms, strong winds and extreme heat forecast across Kingdom

    JEDDAH — The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has issued weather alerts for Monday, warning of thunderstorms, strong winds, and extreme heat across multiple regions of the Kingdom.

    The regions affected by the extreme weather alerts are Tabuk, Al-Baha, Eastern Province, and Hail.

    In Tabuk, the governorates of Tayma, Umluj, Al-Wajh, Duba, Haql, Al-Bad’, and NEOM Sharma are expected to experience reduced visibility and winds reaching speeds of 40–49 km/h until 6:00 p.m.

    In Al-Baha, active winds, reduced horizontal visibility, and thunderstorms are affecting the region.

    The NCM alert covers Al-Baha city and the governorates of Baljurashi, Al-Mandaq, Bani Hassan, Al-Qura, Al-Makhwah, Qilwah, Al-Hajrah, and Ghamid Al-Zinad, as well as surrounding areas. According to the NCM, these weather conditions are expected to continue until 8:00 p.m.

    Meanwhile, Hail’s weather alert warns of active winds affecting open areas and highways. The conditions are expected to reduce horizontal visibility to between 3 and 5 kilometers and persist until 6:00 p.m.

    In the Eastern Province, the NCM issued a warning of active winds and a heat wave with temperatures reaching 49–50°C.

    The alert covers the cities of Dammam and Dhahran, as well as the governorates of Hafar Al-Batin, Al-Khafji, Al-Nairyah, Qaryat Al Ulya, Jubail, Qatif, Ras Tanura, Khobar, Abqaiq, Al Udayd, and Al-Ahsa, in addition to their affiliated towns and villages.

    The weather conditions are expected to raise dust and reduce horizontal visibility to between 3 and 5 kilometers on highways and in open areas and are expected to continue until 6:00 p.m.
