    Umm Al-Qura University Continues Global Advancement in Prestigious International Rankings

     Umm Al-Qura University continues to strengthen its presence on the global higher education map after achieving advanced positions in several international rankings for 2026, highlighting the quality of its educational outcomes and the growing impact of its research and knowledge contributions.
     In the Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2026, the university ranked in the (251–300) category out of 1,267 universities worldwide, reflecting its focus on developing cross-disciplinary academic programs that align with labor market needs and enhance knowledge production locally and internationally.
     The university also recorded notable progress in the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2026, rising from position 1,161 in 2025 to 697 in 2026, indicating its growing commitment to sustainability practices, strengthening its role in social responsibility, and supporting innovation in education and scientific research.
     Meanwhile, the university’s disciplines were ranked among the top 500 globally in the ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, demonstrating the efforts of its colleges to achieve scientific excellence and elevate research and innovation in line with its 2027 strategic objectives.
     Health specialties recorded a distinguished presence. Clinical medicine ranked in the (401–500) category globally and the (2–5) category locally. Pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences ranked in the (201–300) category globally and the (4–5) category locally, reflecting the strength of academic programs in the health sector and the effectiveness of their outputs in meeting health development requirements.
     This progress comes as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to enhance its international competitiveness and contribute to building a sustainable knowledge economy by developing an integrated educational and research system that supports innovation and serves society.
