Vice Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Mansour Hilal Al Mushaiti witnessed the signing of 38 memoranda of understanding and cooperation agreements between the Environment, Water and Agriculture system and a number of government entities, private sector companies, and universities to support the localization of modern technologies, enhance innovation, build capacities, and exchange expertise in the water sector, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 targets.
This came during the opening of the first Saudi Water Week, which kicked off in Jeddah and runs for one week, with broad national, regional, and international participation, supporting the Kingdom’s efforts to develop the water sector and strengthen its global leadership in achieving water security and sustainability.
The agreements aim to exchange expertise, build and develop human capacities in the water sector, enhance innovation and localize modern technologies, raise public awareness of water conservation and efficiency, deploy smart technologies to improve water efficiency, enhance water efficiency in the agricultural sector and airports, and train and qualify irrigation system auditors.
