RIYADH — Al Shabab FC have extended the contract of captain Yannick Carrasco until the summer of 2027, keeping the Belgian international at the club for an additional season.

Carrasco originally joined Al Shabab from Atlético Madrid during the summer transfer window of 2023 on a three-year deal. The two parties have now reached an agreement to prolong his stay through the 2026-27 campaign.

Since arriving in Riyadh, Carrasco has established himself as one of Al Shabab’s most influential players, combining leadership qualities with attacking output and bringing extensive experience from both European and international football.

The Belgian winger has made 84 appearances for Al Shabab across all competitions, scoring 38 goals and cementing his status as one of the club’s standout performers. His goals and creativity have played a key role in several important results over the past two seasons.

Carrasco has also maintained a consistent scoring record across all competitions, making him one of the most productive foreign signings in the club’s recent history.

Al Shabab signed the former Atlético Madrid star in a deal reportedly worth around €15 million in 2023, a transfer that remains one of the club’s highest-profile acquisitions in recent years.
