The Secretary General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) Major General Mohammed Al-Moghedi received Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Libya to the Kingdom Fateh Bashina at the coalition headquarters in Riyadh to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in counterterrorism and capacity building, and to review IMCTC’s key programs and initiatives aimed at supporting member states.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the programs and initiatives implemented by the coalition across its four ideological, media, counterterrorism financing, and military areas. They also discussed the results achieved in developing national capabilities, enhancing coordination among member states, and promoting the best international practices in combating terrorism in all its forms.
Bashina expressed his deep appreciation for the significant efforts made by IMCTC under the leadership of Saudi Arabia, praising the quality programs and initiatives it provides to support member states and bolster their preparedness across various counterterrorism fields.
He noted that Libya looks forward to benefiting from these initiatives, stressing that the current phase calls for enhanced cooperation in capacity building and the exchange of expertise, given Libya’s geographical and strategic importance in the region. This makes cooperation with the coalition an important pillar in supporting security and stability efforts and addressing common challenges.
