The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance signed an executive program in Dushanbe today with Tajikistan’s Committee on Religious Affairs, Regulation of Traditions, Celebrations and Ceremonies.

The program implements a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the field of Islamic affairs and aims to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the two sides in Islamic and dawah fields.

The program was signed by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs Dr. Awad bin Sabti Al-Anzi and First Deputy Chairman of the Committee Tajiddin Abdullahzoda. Saudi Ambassador to Tajikistan Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Shamrani and several officials from both sides attended the signing.

The executive program includes joint academic courses to train personnel working in Islamic affairs, as well as imams, preachers, and muezzins. It also aims to promote the tolerance and virtues of Islam, counter extremism and radicalism, and clarify Islam’s position on contemporary issues.

Under the program, the Tajik side will receive publications from the King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex, including translations of the meanings of the Quran. It will also receive publications and books issued by the ministry.

The executive program builds on the ministry’s efforts to strengthen the Kingdom’s global presence and Islamic mission. It also supports cooperation and the exchange of expertise with authorities responsible for Islamic affairs in other countries.
