RIYADH — The General Authority of Media Regulation has summoned a violator for insulting one of the Kingdom’s sisterly countries in an audio chat room on a social media platform. In a statement released on Wednesday, the authority said that on June 6, 2026, the relevant department detected content in an audio chat room that included offensive remarks directed at a sisterly state. It also said such conduct constitutes a violation of the Anti-Cybercrime Law, which prohibits content that insults sisterly or friendly countries, their leaders, or their national symbols, or otherwise undermines public order.
