Move that will equip 15,000 health professionals across its network with secure sovereign AI tools. RIYADH — The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has thwarted an attempt to smuggle 6.2 kilograms of hashish through the Al-Wadiah border crossing after the narcotics were discovered hidden inside a vehicle entering the Kingdom. ZATCA spokesman Hamoud Al-Harbi said the drugs were detected during inspection procedures and were concealed inside metal cans containing food products. Following the seizure, ZATCA coordinated with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to identify and arrest the intended recipient inside Saudi Arabia, Al-Harbi said. MediaTek and Samsung recently completed what they claimed was the first successful test of a 3Tx five-layer uplink configuration. This collaboration resulted in a total uplink throughput of 670 Mb/s in a joint demonstration. The test combined MediaTek’s M90 5G modem platform with Samsung’s virtualised RAN (vRAN), Massive-MIMO radios, and Macro radios to set “a new standard in 5G uplink performance”. RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Investment has outlined the requirements for non-resident foreign companies seeking to own property in the Kingdom without conducting economic activities, as part of updated regulations included in the Investor Guide 2026. The ministry said foreign companies must submit a commercial registration certificate from their home country, translated by an accredited translation office and authenticated by the Saudi Embassy, along with the company’s articles of incorporation translated and certified in the same manner. LOS ANGELES —Police have arrested the son of actor James Handy’s girlfriend over the actor’s death after he was found stabbed in the chest in Los Angeles, authorities said on Thursday.
