JAZAN/ASIR — Border Guard land patrols arrested eight Ethiopian nationals for violating the Border Security Law in three separate cases in Asir and Jazan, seizing 280 kilograms of khat and 52 kilograms of hashish.
In Asir, Border Guard land patrols in the Al-Rabwah Sector arrested two Ethiopian nationals for violating the Border Security Law and attempting to smuggle 200 kilograms of khat.
In a separate case in Asir, Border Guard land patrols in the Dhahran Al-Janub Sector arrested two Ethiopian nationals for violating the Border Security Law and attempting to smuggle 52 kilograms of hashish.
Meanwhile, in Jazan, Border Guard land patrols in the Al-Dair Sector arrested four Ethiopian nationals for violating the Border Security Law and attempting to smuggle 80 kilograms of khat.
Authorities said initial legal procedures were completed against the suspects in all three cases, and they were handed over along with the seized contraband to the competent authority.
The authorities urged the public to report information related to drug smuggling or trafficking by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, 999 in the rest of the Kingdom, 994 for the Border Guard, or 995 for the General Directorate of Narcotics Control.

Authorities stressed that all reports will be handled with complete confidentiality and that informants will bear no responsibility for the reported incident.
