King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) established a new camp on Thursday in Deir Al-Balah, central Gaza Strip, to shelter displaced people, particularly those with visual impairments and their families. The camp aims to provide safe and stable accommodation for people whose homes were destroyed during the humanitarian crisis.

The project is part of the Saudi public campaign to provide relief to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. Field teams from the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage, KSrelief’s implementing partner in the Gaza Strip, prepared the camp and constructed its shelter units in a manner that accommodates beneficiaries’ needs and provides them with a more suitable and stable environment. As part of the project, the teams distributed 14 tents and food baskets to the most vulnerable groups, benefiting 84 people.

The establishment of the camp comes in response to the exceptional conditions faced by blind people in displacement centers, where they encounter heightened challenges in mobility and access to essential services. Providing suitable shelter is therefore a humanitarian necessity that helps preserve their dignity and alleviate their suffering.
