The Saudi Chemistry Team won four international awards at the 58th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO 2026), held in Tashkent from July 10 to 19, with the participation of 363 students from 92 countries.

Ali Ahmed Bawazir, from the General Administration of Education in Riyadh Region, and Ali Salem Al-Yami, from the General Administration of Education in Najran Region, each won a silver medal. Abdulaziz Badr Al-Juaid, from the General Administration of Education in Madinah Region, and Mujtaba Abdulilah Al-Tarouti, from the General Administration of Education in Eastern Region, each won a bronze medal.

The achievement brings Saudi Arabia’s total at the International Chemistry Olympiad to 53 awards, including 17 silver medals, 34 bronze medals, and two certificates of appreciation. The results follow an intensive training program delivered by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) in partnership with the Ministry of Education under the Mawhiba International Olympiads Program. The program included training camps held inside and outside the Kingdom under the supervision of national and international experts.
