JEDDAH — Ivan Toney continued his remarkable debut season with Al Ahli by scoring a hat-trick in Wednesday’s 3-1 win over Al Fateh to move top of the Roshn Saudi League scoring charts.

The English striker delivered another standout performance in Jeddah, converting two penalties before adding a trademark close-range finish to secure his fourth league hat-trick of the season.

Toney became only the fourth player in Saudi Pro League history to register four hat-tricks in a single campaign, joining Abderrazak Hamdallah, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema in the exclusive group.

His latest treble also pushed the total number of hat-tricks in the 2025-26 season to 18, the highest ever recorded in a single Saudi Pro League campaign.

More importantly for Al Ahli, the victory kept their fading title hopes alive. The reigning Asian champions remain third in the standings, seven points behind leaders Al Nassr with three rounds remaining.

Toney’s three goals lifted him to 30 league strikes this season, moving him one ahead of Julián Quiñones in the race for the golden boot, while Ronaldo trails by five goals.

“Of course, that’s going to be in the back of my mind,” Toney said after collecting the match ball and Man of the Match award. “That’s something I want to achieve.

“But the main thing is we win games and finish the season strong. And who knows what can happen?”

Already a winner of the Saudi Super Cup and AFC Champions League Elite title this season, Toney is now chasing another piece of silverware, the league’s golden boot.
