TAIPEI — A Taiwanese air force aircraft crashed during a training mission on Tuesday, killing two pilots on board, the defense ministry said in a statement. The T-34C aircraft went down at about 8.08am at Gangshan Air Base in Kaohsiung in southern Taiwan while conducting a simulated engine-failure exercise, according to the island’s air force. The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources processed 778 chemical-clearance service requests in April as part of its efforts to support industrial investment and provide services that promote the growth and expansion of industrial enterprises. Ministry Spokesperson Jarrah Al-Jarrah said the processed applications included 703 requests for the clearance of imports of unrestricted chemicals and 75 requests for permits to import restricted chemicals. The issued requests covered a total of 2,758 items. RIYADH — The General Directorate of Narcotics Control seized 845,087 amphetamine tablets hidden inside cardboard sheets in the Eastern Province. A Saudi citizen, the intended recipient of the consignment, was arrested in Taif.
